I seem to have millions of little black worms all around the foundation of my house and garage. They are about an inch long and more and more of them seem to appear after rains. They curl up in little circles when they die. They are on the concrete and all around everywhere. They really gross me out. What are they and how do I get rid of them? I have tried a number of things, nothing seems to work.

I grow cannas, lotus, elephant ears, and mandevilla. They must be dug and stored over the winter. I have a bulb closet my contractor built. It has 10 inch insulation and an industrial heater. I can hold the temperature in it between 30 - 50 degrees. Last year, I put the tubers and rhizomes in peat moss and then in plastic bags. Big mistake!!!!
