It was taken in the spring. And I am sorry, I can't remember the species/genus for this exquisite iris. I have several "black" irises and when ready to divide, I'd share. There is something in my recollection about "midnight" but I could be wayyyyyy…

Looking at the internet, I believe they are millipedes. Apparently when it is very wet, they come out, by the millions. I read some horrific stories. I guess I didn't know I bought a house in a swamp... ho hum Whilst I know they are allegedly harml…

Suggestions 1. Either put down weed cloth or kill with round-up the area where the bed structure will lie. Either of those choices beats trying to control the weeds growing up against the frame. 2. Do not over-spray the frame with irrigation water,…

little black worms

I seem to have millions of little black worms all around the foundation of my house and garage. They are about an inch long and more and more of them seem to appear after rains. They curl up in little circles when they die. They are on the concrete and all around everywhere. They really gross me out. What are they and how do I get rid of them? I have tried a number of things, nothing seems to work.

Thanks, Denise

I lost most due to wetness and subsequent mold/rot. I need advise as to how to winter my rhizomes and tubers. I can't seem to get them dry in Ohio wet fal… Continue

I am ready to start my first raised bed venture here in Ohio. My former raised beds were in the desert of WA state. They were about 40 feet by 20 feet. I am just getting going here and haven't any raised beds yet. I have focused on my perennial gardens and now am preparing for veggie and other raised garden delights.

Denise, Thanks for your comment. We have fun custom designing our structures. Please visit Willow Creek Garden Accents while at Plant Expo 2009. Mark refuses to let me come as Fence Guy so I'll leave the cape and mask at home and show up as Buddy .
