mudpuppies

Listeners who are curious about mudpuppies, can find two of them living and thriving in an aquarium at the Brukner Nature Center in Troy, Ohio.  You can look closely at their delicate gills, waving in the water, and see the primitive looking tail and legs.  They really are unique!  Lots of other native animals and--at last--the first wildflowers of spring are all around the nature center, too.See More

Topping trees

I heard someone ask about how to save a tree topped by the electric company and you suggested he send a photo.  Last fall our electric company came and topped several of our trees and here is a photo of two of them that I see every day from our bedroom window.  It makes me sad.  Will they ever send new branches or is this the permanent look?  We are way too old to start new trees and these grew up over the years along with our children

I like to hear other people's questions about gardening, and hear answers and suggestions for growing plants. It would also be nice to ask some of my own questions.
I particularly enjoy Mark's weekly talks with the men from Cox Arboretum and the Green Velvet Lawn company and other guests. They are always personable and informative.
