I have a sugar maple tree in my back yard. At the end of last year I had one branch near the top that did not drop its leaves which concerned me ( I thought the branch was dead) so I took my knife (like you have said many times on your show) and skimmed the branch and it still had green under the bark. So I left the branch alone to see how it would do this spring. It appeared to bud, but no leaves came. I was just wondering what to do or what else to look for. I did skim the branch with my knife again this spring and it still had green in it. Is this branch dead and should I cut it out?
